SA on show to 100m Chinese

More than 100 million Chinese TV viewers will tune in to watch as South Australia goes on display in the hit Chinese drama series Cherish Your Love Forever (Jiang Ai).

Tourism minister Gail Gago says four episodes of the TV series currently being filmed in the state will boost South Australia’s profile in China better than any advertising campaign ever could.

“China is one of South Australia’s fastest-growing international visitor markets, and has already become our number one source of international visitor expenditure,” Ms Gago said. “Locating episodes of such a famous Chinese TV show in our state will ensure that growth continues.”

Cherish Your Love Forever scenes are being shot in Adelaide, the Barossa, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.

“The publicity value of the four episodes is upwards of $100 million,” Ms Gago said. “The series will showcase exactly those aspects of our state that appeal most to Chinese visitors – our food and wine, wildlife and spacious natural landscapes.”
