The issue of management rights can polarise unit owners.
“There is no doubt that management rights businesses provide a critical service to both the residential and tourist accommodation sectors in Queensland however from working with large numbers of bodies corporate and management rights operators we have seen both sides where bodies corporate are happy with their current arrangements to those schemes who just don’t want the management rights business operating within their scheme,” says Andrew Staehr, director of Archers Body Corporate Management.
“Recently the attorney general tabled a discussion paper for consultation regarding management rights for feedback to ensure that the legislation governing management rights remains relevant and appropriate. I urge interested individuals and organisations to make written submissions on the discussion paper.
