New hotel brand comes to Australia

Wyndham Hotel Group plans to introduce the select-service TRYP by Wyndham brand to Australia with the signing of an agreement to open the TRYP Fortitude Valley in Brisbane.

The four-storey hotel, expected to be completed by mid 2014, is currently under construction in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Constance St. Owned and developed by Jay McPhee, the hotel will be managed by Australian-based Resort Management by Wyndham.

“We are thrilled to welcome the first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Australia and look forward to introducing this exciting, cosmopolitan brand to business and leisure travellers from around the world,” said Barry Robinson, managing director of Wyndham Hotel Group in the South Pacific. “The addition of TRYP Fortitude Valley signifies an integral milestone in the company’s plans to expand Wyndham Hotel Group brands into key markets throughout Australia and the South Pacific.”

TRYP by Wyndham offers business and leisure travellers one part experience and one part destination with contemporary, unique lodging options in some of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities including Madrid and Barcelona in Spain; Paris; Lisbon, Portugal; Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and New York City. The brand’s “Own the City” culture, which openly displays passion for guests and for the cities in which TRYP by Wyndham properties are located, aims to help guests make the most of their travels.

TRYP Fortitude Valley will put guests within walking distance of key business centres and some of Brisbane city’s top attractions including world-class shopping and dining, Fortitude Valley’s iconic ‘super clubs’ and bars, James Street Market and Chinatown.

The hotel will feature an exceptional blend of finishes showcasing elements of Brisbane’s unique heritage, including 150-year-old renewed timber flooring. Rustic features fused with clean lines and ultra contemporary fittings will feature throughout the hotel’s guest rooms and social spaces. A ground-floor restaurant and bar, plus an executive meeting room, will add to the appeal of the Fortitude Valley location.
