Family group plans $20m revamp at Calamvale
Queensland’s The Calamvale Hotel is to undergo a major $20 million redevelopment that will include a six-storey hotel and conference centre.
The hotel plans call for a 4½-star, 60-room facility, according to operations manager Damian McGuire of the family-owned McGuire group.
The Calamvale development is the second of its kind for the McGuire hotel group with The Colmslie Hotel, in Morningside, adding a 49-room hotel and conference centre.
Mr McGuire said the company was finalising builders and hoped to start work in coming months once the application was approved by Brisbane City Council.
