Alice backpackers closes
Backpacker resort Annie’s Place in Alice Springs has shut down.
After 17 years in operation, Annie’s Place have been left devastated after a depressed tourist industry forced the iconic backpackers to close.
Owner and manager Andrea Glover said they could no longer keep up with operational costs after carrier TigerAir pulled out of Alice Springs. She said the 135 bed hostel was seeing around 35 beds being occupied.
