NSW appoints Europe manager

Destination NSW chief executive officer Sandra Chipchase has announced the appointment of Paul Hawes as the regional manager UK and Germany.

“The UK and Germany are important markets for NSW accounting for 14.4 per cent of all international visitors to our State and around $861 million in visitor spend for the year ending June 2014,” Ms Chipchase said. “Mr Hawes’ knowledge of international tourism and extensive industry experience across sales and marketing roles will be vital assets as he joins a strong team at Destination NSW working in two important tourism markets for NSW.”

With experience spanning destination marketing and tourism development, Mr Hawes has spent the last six and a half years with Canada’s national tourism body, the Canadian Tourism Commission most recently as marketing manager where he led the marketing strategy and advertising implementation across Europe and Australia.
Based at the Destination NSW office in London, Mr Hawes will commence work on 22 September.
