Heritage icon to be preserved
Momentum Developments’ Paul Huggins has promised to restore to its former glory the heritage Mentone Hotel overlooking Port Phillip Bay in Victoria.
Mr Huggins purchased the coastal landmark for about $9 million amidst heavy competition and said he planned to retain and restore the original building and attract a F&B retail business operator, while also developing the rest of the site for accommodation.
He plans to capitalise on the large site and sought-after location by looking at a range of development options that will incorporate the existing hotel building and maximise the substantial Beach Rd frontage and sweeping views across Port Phillip Bay.
