Spencer Hendricks is the director of sales and marketing of this family owned 415-room five-star newly refreshed hotel and he explained, “The Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney undertook a detailed room refurbishment mid 2014 which will be complete by early 2015.”
The revamp included soft furnishings in all guest rooms and suites where the primary concern was to create a unique home away from home ambiance for guests but punctuated with special opulent touches to maintain “the Amora difference”. The result is Amora guest rooms that are current and contemporary in style with warm earthy tones used to accentuate the well-appointed furnishings. The ultimate effect is comfort and relaxation enhanced by quality in-room amenities. Rooms also feature spacious bathrooms all offering separate deep bath and shower facilities.
Part of the refurbishment remit was to meet any previously unmet technological needs of guest, so in-room amenities also include the latest in-room technology complimented with free wifi. A multifunctional media hub ensures that all refurbished rooms cater to travellers from every walk of life from those who want to download movies and use social media to the well-connected business traveller.
Mr Hendricks said, “Our free wifi is complimented with a 122cm LCD smart TV, with individual PIN code for Bluetooth connectivity that gives our guests access to freely communicate with loved ones via Skype or watch movies via their own mobile device.”
The Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from deluxe rooms to Jamison Club Suites. The newly refurbished deluxe accommodation rooms highlight exceptional soft furnishings from luxurious custom designs that are specific to Amora Hotel Jamison. An all-purpose roundtable and luxurious 360° revolving chair has replaced the traditional desk and chair and is complimented by dimming LED lighting.
And then there are the beds to discuss… Working in partnership with the management of the hotel, A H Beard developed the King Koil Amora Luxury model to deliver sumptuous, top quality beds for Amora Hotel Jamison’s guests. State of the art technology was used to develop the 30cm thick mattress with individual coil springs, completed with a comfort 10.16cm topper.
All the window-dressings offer a unique combination of style and functionality with sheer blinds that allow natural Sydney sunshine to filter through but also give guests a sense of privacy and the soft blackout drapes provide complete darkness. The newly refurbished deluxe corner rooms are finely appointed with two windows grabbing high views of the bustling Sydney streets. With the king-size Amora Dream Bed, new furnishings and the generosity of space these rooms are ideally suited to guests who stay for a long period of time. The airy four-point bathrooms are all equipped with separate walk in shower and a deep bath.
The newly refurbished Park Suites have a large bedroom and a separate lounge area with their own 122cm LCD smart TV in each zone. This makes sure that privacy is maintained between the two areas. Each Park Suite is furnished with a king size Amora Dream Bed as well as spacious and classic four-point bathrooms with a deep bath and separate large shower. The lounge room features a large executive work desk and a chaise lounge with views overlooking Wynyard Park and the cityscape.
The bold dark purple revolving chair accentuates and frames the lounge room, this suite could be described as “picture perfect”.
The reaction to this refurbishment from guests has been sensational according to Mr Hendricks. He said, “The feedback that we have received from regular guests has been overwhelmingly positive. We were excited to reveal the phenomenal refurbishment of our guest rooms and the remarkable result has complimented the first class customer service that we are known for.”
Beds with the Amora difference
King Koil Commercial is proud to have been chosen as the supplier of beds to the Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney as part of it’s recent refurbishment. The property management and owners went through a thorough and exhaustive process to choose a supplier that could help them offer their guests a truly sumptuous five-star sleep experience.
Working in partnership with the management of the hotel, A H Beard developed the King Koil Amora Luxury model to meet the brief and deliver the desired experience. They used state of the art technology in both the support system and comfort layers. Peter Deveny, the director of sales and marketing of A H Beard, said, “The Amora Luxury offers true five-star comfort and support, cocooning the guest in deep comfort layers combined with outstanding support from the patented reflex pocket coil spring system.”
This innovative spring system offers incredible comfort with extra support provided by additional coils spread throughout the mattress. These secondary coils are activated by body weight so that the additional support works where and when it is needed. Couples sleeping in the Amora Luxury, regardless of their difference in body types and weights, will enjoy the minimal partner disturbance this support system delivers, providing better comfort and better sleep.
The Amora Luxury mattress is matched to a designer base, upholstered in feature fabric chosen by the design team to blend into the décor of the room and provide a modern, streamlined look to match the rest of the furniture. Mr Deveny admits that the response from team at Amora Hotel Jamison is very pleasing. Delivery of the Amora Luxury, made in the A H Beard factory at Padstow commenced in August 2014 and was staged to meet the refurbishment schedule of each floor of the building. “Having the scope to manufacture to meet the schedule meant that we were able to work closely with the project management team at Cairncross Martin to effect a seamless and streamlined delivery process,” explained Mr Deveny. This meant there was less disruption to the property and less downtime for rooms consequently the installation of the beds was completed efficiently and quickly.
