Tripadvisor achievement catalyst for annual ‘Write a review day’ event
Celebrating a historic 1 billion reviews milestone, Tripadvisor has announced its plans to launch ‘Write a review day’ on May 3, 2022 and annually on every first Tuesday of May thereafter.
The online reviewer has released a number of interesting facts and figures relating to the content submitted, including some key Australian data, since it received its first post on August 26, 2004:
Australia’s most-reviewed accommodation ever: Meriton Suites Broadbeach, with over 12,000 reviews.
Australia’s most-reviewed attraction ever: Sydney Opera House, in Sydney, Australia, with over 24,000 reviews.
The most-prolific Tripadvisor reviewer in Australia: @ET3121, who has posted more than 5,700 reviews since becoming a Tripadvisor member in 2012.
World’s most-reviewed restaurant ever: Pastéis de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal, with over 52,600 reviews.
The longest English language review ever written on Tripadvisor: 17,241 words written by @The_Budges about their stay at the Hotel Playa Pesquero Resort in Cuba.
Number of posts in the Tripadvisor forums: 89,426,160 posts (and counting).
The traveller who has posted the most photo submissions: @PaoloRiccardoCarrara, who is from Rome and has contributed a whopping 102,272 submissions, totalling 313,651 photos.
In a statement Tripadvisor said by encouraging travellers to write a review about a recent hotel stay, experience booked or culinary moment at a restaurant it would be helping to give the tourism industry feedback that may aid in getting it back on its feet.
