NZ tourism industry ‘Ready to Welcome’ at TRENZ Hui 2022 Online
Industry keen to move forward with border reopening on July 31
Over 400 tourism operators will prepare for the full reopening of New Zealand’s borders at this week’s innovative online event, TRENZ Hui 2022 Online.
Running across May 25 – 26, program format features a line-up of inspirational speakers whose focus will be the restart of the country’s tourism with a view to the future with in-person networking events in Auckland and Queenstown supporting the industry’s reconnection.
The event’s theme, ‘Ready to Welcome’, is seen as timely given the Prime Minister’s announcement earlier this month advising New Zealand’s border will reopen fully on July 31.
The program, hosted by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) in partnership with Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) will feature an address from Tourism Minister, Stuart Nash.

TIA Chief Executive, Rebecca Ingram and TNZ’s Chief Executive, René de Monchy will also present to the online delegates.

A session on aviation and connectivity, ‘The new era of air travel’ will be presented jointly by Auckland Airport and Air New Zealand.
MC for the event, journalist Jehan Casinader will give also give a presentation on wellness and resilience as the industry begins its recovery.
The speaker program will be broken up by a series of quickfire ‘TRENZ Talks’ covering international insights, innovation and trends, high performance teams and amazing customer experience.
Ms Ingram said it was exciting to show how TRENZ has adapted this year to support tourism’s recovery.
“With the return of all international visitors just around the corner, the industry is keenly focused on moving forward, making a vital contribution to creating jobs, enhancing the environment and supporting communities across the country,” she said.
