Rydges continues Sydney expansion
New Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel opens for business
Following an extensive refurbishment, the former Radisson Hotel and Suites Sydney in Sydney’s CBD has reopened under a new Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel branding.
The third Rydges property announced in the last two months, the rebrand is part of an agreement between Event Hospitality & Entertainment (EVENT) and Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd (AHG).
The move marks AHG’s first foray into Australian hotel investment.
The 98-room Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel is located in the centre of Sydney’s CBD in close proximity to Darling Harbour and the International Conventional Centre and includes a range of standard rooms and executive, one and two bedroom suites, an on-site restaurant, room service, complimentary Wi-Fi, GYM and a swimming pool, making it the perfect base for the business and leisure traveller.
AHG’s Yu Dongxiao said as this was the company’s first hotel industry investment in Australia, AHG had been looking for a local Australian brand that had a strong domestic loyalty footprint and that would work well with the elevated offering that the renovation had created.

Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel joins recent signings Rydges Perth King Square, The Miller (North Sydney) and Rydges Rotorua, which the company said demonstrates strong demand for the brand in the Australia/New Zealand region.
