North Sydney’s tallest tower ‘tops out’ at 50 storeys

New building housing 252-suite hotel set for Q2 2023 opening

The tallest tower in North Sydney’s CBD, the 88 Walker Street development, has achieved a major construction milestone, topping out at Level 50, an impressive 180 metres above street level.

A transformational development, when completed the building will also be the first new mixed-use tower in North Sydney, comprising a 252-suite 4-star hotel operated by Singapore-based The Ascott Limited.

The building will feature 24 levels of commercial office space including eight levels of facilities across the hotel and commercial components with a ground-floor cafe, a restaurant, executive lounge, hotel gym, and three levels of end-of-trip tenant amenities.

Interestingly, the building includes 105 bicycle holding spaces within the end-of-trip facilities and no car parking, relying on its connectivity to the forthcoming North Sydney Metro Station, North Sydney Train Station, and with numerous public car parks in the immediate vicinity.

The Ascott Limited Managing Director – Australia,  David Mansfield expressed his excitement for the continued growth of the company’s  key brands in the Australian market which include Citadines, Quest Apartment Hotels, lyf and Oakwood.

“We  are delighted to expand our presence in Sydney, consolidating our Citadines brand and its signature ‘For the Love of the Cities around Australia’,” he said.

88 Walker Street is scheduled for completion in Q2 2023.
