Radisson Individuals arrives in Melbourne with Canterbury International Hotel signing

The 74-room hotel will undergo a phased refurbishment program, beginning with a soft refurbishment ahead of its opening later this year.

Radisson Hotel Group has made its Melbourne debut for Radisson Individuals, signing Canterbury International Hotel Melbourne into the brand in partnership with investment firm Celestial Capital.

The 74-room hotel will undergo a phased refurbishment program, beginning with a soft refurbishment ahead of its opening later this year, followed by additional enhancement works as part of a longer-term upgrade plan.

Located on Springvale Road within the Springvale Road Business District, the property sits alongside the Tally Ho office park — a significant corporate precinct spanning more than 100,000 square metres across 27 buildings.

The surrounding Forest Hill area is home to the corporate offices of several national and international organisations, including World Vision, Motorola, Osteon and the BMW Training Centre, while nearby Greenwood Business Parks provide more than 20,000 square metres of commercial space and amenities.

Victor Kondarios, Director of Development, Australasia at Radisson Hotel Group, said the signing reflects the Group’s continued focus on quality-led growth in Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region.

“Bringing Radisson Individuals to Melbourne for the first time is a meaningful step toward expanding our footprint in key gateway cities,” Kondarios said. “It also strengthens our offering for owners seeking the benefits of an international platform while retaining a hotel’s independent character. With its strong corporate catchment and extensive meetings and events facilities, the hotel is well positioned to perform year-round and supports our long-term ambition to grow our portfolio across priority markets in the region.”

For Celestial Capital, the signing represents a further expansion of its relationship with Radisson Hotel Group and its Melbourne presence.

“Canterbury International Hotel Melbourne adds another globally recognised flag to our growing portfolio,” said Celestial Managing Partner Raymond Tran. “Following the recent flagging of Park Inn by Radisson Melbourne Carlton, which we acquired two years ago, this signing builds on our strategy of driving value through brand partnerships. It is our second Radisson hotel in Melbourne and follows recent private client acquisitions in Townsville and Sydney.”

The property is designed to support meetings, events and longer stays, offering extensive function space alongside an outdoor courtyard with a fireplace. Guest facilities include the Atrium lobby café and bar, Oliver restaurant, a ballroom, fitness room, spa and outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel is accessible by road, approximately 26 kilometres from Melbourne CBD and around 45 kilometres from Melbourne Airport. Rail connections are available via a station located approximately 2.5 kilometres away, with services operating at regular intervals into the CBD.

Radisson Individuals is Radisson Hotel Group’s conversion brand, created for distinctive independent hotels and local or regional chains seeking access to the Group’s global platform while maintaining their own identity. Each property is selected for its character and personality, supported by Radisson Hotel Group’s quality standards and “Yes I Can!” service ethos, complemented by local touches.
