Sofitel and MGallery celebrate multiple honours

Accor’s luxury hotels have collected honours for exceptional stays, standout bars, wine lists and service

Accor’s luxury Sofitel and MGallery hotels across Australia have been recognised across four of the country’s most respected hospitality honours, headlined by a coveted Michelin Key for The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery Collection in the Michelin Guide’s 2026 hotel selection.

Introduced in 2024 as the hotel world’s equivalent of the Michelin Star, Michelin Keys are awarded by anonymous inspectors who assess the full guest experience, from design and architecture to service, character and value. One Key recognises “a very special stay”, with The Porter House Hotel Sydney one of just 54 Michelin Key hotels in Australia this year.

Behind its heritage-listed 1867 façade, The Porter House embraces its rich past through heritage brickwork, arched windows and showcased relics alongside contemporary rooms and a striking exterior mural by artist Maria Fernanda Cardoso, which reaches eleven storeys into the Sydney skyline.

Located in Sydney’s Central Business District, moments from Hyde Park and Pitt Street Mall, The Porter House offers 122 guest rooms and suites, a heated rooftop pool and fitness centre. A member of Historic Hotels Worldwide, it pays tribute to its origins as a 19th-century tobacco factory and leather merchant through its design, amenities and storytelling, offering guests a distinctly Sydney blend of heritage and contemporary luxury.

It has become one of the city’s hottest dining and drinking precincts, housing a ground-floor urban café and the two-hatted Lee Ho Fook by Victor Liong on Level 1, showcasing reimagined Chinese cuisine in a gorgeous historic setting.

Six further Accor hotels have been included in the Michelin Guide’s 2026 hotel selection: Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, Sofitel Adelaide, The Playford Adelaide – MGallery Collection, and Hotel Chadstone Melbourne – MGallery Collection.

The bar was also shortlisted for Restaurant Bar of the Year and Whisky Bar of the Year, while Bar Manager Antonio Bettio was a finalist for both Bar Manager of the Year and Host of the Year, and Bianca Zeaiter a finalist for Rookie of the Year.

Goblets across the wine lists

Seven restaurants and bars across Sofitel and MGallery hotels were awarded Goblets in Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards, which recognise lists whose breadth, curation and versatility set the standard for the year.

Five venues received the top honour of three Goblets: Tilda and Delta Rue at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Garçon Bleu at Sofitel Adelaide, Lee Ho Fook Sydney at The Porter House Hotel Sydney and Cibaria Noosa at Elysium Noosa Resort, MGallery Collection. Ammos at The Brighton Hotel Sydney, MGallery Collection received two Goblets and No35 Restaurant at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins received one.

Victoria’s concierge of the year

Rounding out the season, Sam Goodchap, Chief Concierge at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, was named Concierge of the Year 2026 at the Accommodation Awards for Excellence Victoria.

David Fraser, VP Operations for Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems Hotels, Pacific said the results reflected the craft and care of hotel teams across the country.

“A Michelin Key is one of the most meaningful recognitions a hotel can receive, because it is earned by people who never know an inspector is in the room. To see that alongside Australia’s best hotel bar, some of the country’s finest wine lists and Victoria’s Concierge of the Year tells that the art of hospitality is alive and well in our hotels, and our guests feel it.”
