Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort gives 178 rooms a coastal makeover

The first refurbished Deluxe Rooms are available for stays at Twin Waters, with the $20 million-plus upgrade due for completion in February 2027.

Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort is giving nearly half its accommodation a makeover, with 178 of its 373 rooms and suites being refurbished.

The first Deluxe Rooms have new flooring, bedding and furnishings, as well as upgraded bathrooms. Guests can choose a garden or lagoon outlook, with a private balcony or patio in each room. The resort says its facilities will remain open while work continues.

Michael Daviss, Shakespeare Property Group, Portfolio General Manager, said the resort’s ‘Same Sunshine. New Chapter.’ campaign captured the thinking behind the upgrade.

“We’re introducing refreshed, contemporary accommodation inspired by our coastal surroundings while retaining the sense of space, connection and relaxation that has always defined a stay here,” Daviss said.

The refurbishment is the latest round of investment by Shakespeare Property Group, which acquired the Twin Waters resort in 2018. Earlier works included upgrades to the lobby, overwater bungalows, pool and gym, as well as the addition of the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, which can accommodate up to 1,400 delegates.

The resort is set across 36 hectares of bushland, waterways and landscaped grounds, with overwater bungalows and a private lagoon fringed by a beach.
