Novotel off to a Fiery Start

More than 120 party goers received a fiery welcome at a cocktail party to celebrate the re-launch of Novotel Brisbane following its $12 million refurbishment when a troupe of fire dancers unveiled its swanky new look and feel on 11 August.

Media, corporate guests, event organizers, travel industry and representatives from Brisbane’s major attractions were also entertained by DJ Alex Roches’ mix of smooth up-tempo tracks interspersed with the sizzling, fire twirling skills of the Phoenix Fire Tribe.

AN30-2-news-Novotel_BNENovotel Brisbane manager Ben Patten told guests that despite economic despair dominating the media of late, the Brisbane accommodation industry was holding strong.

“Despite the doom and gloom presented in the media, for the most part the Brisbane market is projected to grow strongly toward the end of 2011 and into 2012. Leisure and weekend travel has been impacted by the challenges Queensland experienced in the beginning of 2011 and as a result, there are some great deals out there in family friendly hotels such as Novotel Brisbane,” he said.

“I’m sure you’ll all agree that Novotel Brisbane is looking fantastic and we would like to thank you for your support and look forward to continuing to offer the highest level of comfort and service as we move into our next era.” said Mr Patten.

The event was held as Accor celebrates its 20th year in Australia and was part of a series of World of Accor events across the region.
