Destination NSW Board Announced
Minister for tourism and major events George Souris has announced the board of Destination NSW.
The board of management for the new authority comprises representatives from government and industry with new members joining the existing interim members John Conde, chairman; Russell Balding, deputy chairman; Leslie Cassar, former chair of Tourism NSW and Mark Paterson, director-general of the Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services.
“This board has a level of expertise which I am confident will help propel Sydney and NSW as the nation’s top tourism and events destination.” Mr Souris said the new Board would implement the strategy developed by the state’s Visitor Economy Taskforce for marketing and promoting NSW to achieve the government’s target to double overnight visitor expenditure in NSW by 2020.
