Sea Temple Energy Saving to FWES
Sunshine Coast energy solutions company Future Wave Energy Solutions has won a contract at a prominent Port Douglas resort by promising to reduce its carbon footprint by about 300 tonnes and realise $100,000 a year in energy savings.
Future Wave Energy Solutions directors Joe Natoli and Charlie Notting say two big name competitors could not match their tender to deliver substantial savings at the luxurious Sea Temple. The resort has a large 3000m² swimming lagoon that weaves through the complex, requiring significant pool pump operations and an equally large energy bill.
Mr Notting said, “Many businesses do not realise government regulated charges can change at any time and account for over half of their energy bill so they must be regularly examined for savings.”
Former Maroochy mayor Mr Natoli said this contract showed their energy saving solutions and energy brokering were now being taken seriously.
He said they had saved $84,000 a year on their largest account and had even saved small to mid-sized restaurants $10,000 a year.
“Sometimes the rhetoric spoken by government and energy companies about wanting to reduce energy is not really there,” he said. “Most people wanted to make a contribution and reduce carbon footprint but the cost and inconvenience to their lifestyle is too great to bear.”
