Boutique Revamp for Port Douglas Resort
A stylish boutique hotel at Port Douglas has re-opened after owers Amalgamated Holdings completed a $6.5 million refurbishment.
Amalgamated Holdings managing director David Seargeant said the new QT Port Douglas was being positioned to target the affluent traveller. The former 160-room Rydges Sabaya Resort was acquired by Amalgamated Holdings three years ago for $21 million.
It is the first of three QT brands with hotels in Sydney and on the Gold Coast.
Mr Seargeant said, “We have created a real resort, fun and party atmosphere.” He said his company believed boutique hotels, popular in the US and Europe, were the future.
