New general manager at Crowne Plaza Adelaide
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed a new hotel general manager for Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Linda Collis.
inda will oversee the hotel’s operations, reporting to Bill Edwards, IHG director of operations, Australasia. She replaces Brendon Meppem who will transfer to Malaysia to manage Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie.
Linda commenced her career in hotel operations in 1999 at Holiday Inn Townsville where she was a business development manager and moved to Brisbane in 2001 where she was the manager of national sales overseeing Queensland, Northern Territory, West Australia and Papua New Guinea, as well as overseeing the sales for Holiday Inn Brisbane.
In 2004 Linda relocated to Auckland to take up a position as business development director for Crowne Plaza Auckland – a role she oversaw for 19 months. Most recently Linda was area director of sales and marketing, based at Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, overseeing the sales and marketing functions for Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Vanuatu.
Linda will relocate to Adelaide with her husband and daughter, and is looking forward to taking up long-distance running and triathlons, and visiting the South Australian countryside and vineyards.
