Riverboat converted to backpackers
The Murray River Queen paddle steamer has been opened as a backpacker hostel in South Australia.
The vessel which, has been moored at the Waikerie riverfront for ten years, has been bought by Major Ventures and converted to accommodation for seasonal workers.
Major Ventures managing director Matthew Major said the uniqueness of the hostel was a huge selling point.
The converted riverboat has 48 rooms, a communal kitchen, dining, recreational areas, a licensed bar and a cafe.
