Jindabyne resort comes on the market

One of Lake Jindabyne’s prime resort and conference centres, the four-star Horizons Resort, has been placed on the market and is expected to attract interest from existing accommodation operators in the nearby snowfields.

Located on the foreshore of the lake, 100m from Jindabyne’s main shopping precinct, the property, with an asking price of $2.95 million including a manager’s residence, is being sold by by expression of interest.

The three storey building is made up of 120 studio and two storey, two bedroom apartments, 80 of which are in the letting pool. The manager’s unit is a free standing, air conditioned three bedroom residence on a 620m² separate title deed.

Facilities include outdoor tennis court, Indoor heated swimming pool, a la carte licensed restaurant, bistro family restaurant and BBQ area, bar and piano lounge, commercial catering kitchen, ski hire, gymnasium, beautician and massage rooms, three separate conference rooms catering up to 250 people and a tented function room.

Sales agent Ian Dore of Resort Brokers Australia said that while the tourist industry was highly seasonal with the greatest demand for accommodation during the four month ski season from June to September, Horizons Resort was also a popular summer destination for conferences, weddings and events.

Jindabyne has a population of 3800 people and is the principal accommodation and retail centre for visitors to the nearby Kosciuszko National Park Ski Resort areas. It is one of the principal service and accommodation centres in south eastern New South Wales approximately 65km south of Cooma and 35 km north east of the ski resort areas.
