Strong growth continues for largest hotel franchisor
Choice Hotels Australasia has again increased its accommodation offering in New Zealand, Victoria and New South Wales with five new properties joining the well-established stable, bringing the Australasian tally to 270 properties.
Focusing on building hotel numbers in both regional and metropolitan areas, Choice Hotels continues to respond to the demand of travellers wanting accommodation options to suit an array of budgets. Trent Fraser, CHA’s chief executive officer, says the addition of five new properties demonstrates that Choice Hotels is not only surviving, but growing with vigour in a tougher tourism market.
Choice Hotels’ Victorian offering is now bolstered with the addition of Quality Inn The George Ballarat offering 4½-star accommodation within walking distance to Ballarat’s shopping, cafes and restaurants.
Within New South Wales is the Econo Lodge Hideaway Armidale, a three-star property offering 22 guest rooms and a swimming pool located within landscaped gardens and close to nearby Armidale attractions such as Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and Dangars Gorge Waterfall.
Head over the ditch to New Zealand and Auckland is now home to three new Choice Hotels properties including the five-star Clarion Collection Metropolis boasting spacious well-appointed and fully serviced apartments complete with full kitchen facilities as well as on-site spa, sauna and heated pool and in the heart of the CBD action. The recently completed four-star plus Qualmark Quality Suites Alexander Inn alternatively offers 24 rooms for the corporate or pleasure traveller in CBD fringe and shopping-centric suburb Newmarket, ranging from studio rooms, kitchen studios, executive business rooms, one bedroom apartments and romantic spa suites. Not forgetting value conscious travellers, the expansion is completed by the announcement of the100 room, three-star Econo Lodge City Central, located in the heart of Auckland city centre and close to a host of museums, art galleries and some of the best bars in town.
Choice Hotels Australasia has 270 hotels across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with an excess of 14,000 rooms.
