Tourism complex proposed for Sleaford
Plans to develop 200 hectares of land at Sleaford south of Port Lincoln in South Australia for a tourism and residential complex are again before the Lower Eyre Peninsula District Council.
SK Planning’s Mark Baade said the proposed Sleaford Cove development by real estate developer Ron Forster comprises a substantial tourist accommodation component, with up to 50 four-star accommodation units being proposed overlooking Sleaford Bay.
There would be about 350 housing allotments and Mr Baade said a key feature of the development would be its self-sustainability with all electricity generated on-site and rainwater would be harvested, along with wastewater treatment and re-use.
The proposal is expected to be developed in stages over a 10-year period at a cost of $150 million.
