AAA elects new board

Stable, ongoing leadership was the principal outcome of the 2012 Accommodation Association of Australia annual general meeting, which has been held in Brisbane.

The executive chairman of the Crockett Group, Garry Crockett, has been re-elected as President of the Accommodation Association, which will extend his term in the position to 13 years. The chief operating officer of Classic Holidays, Carole Smith, has also been re-elected – as vice president, while joining Ms Smith as a vice president will be Julian Clark, chief executive officer of the Lancemore Group, Victoria. Board members elected were: Tony Gauci, general manager – brand, Quest Serviced Apartments; Dianne Smith, chief executive, Victoria Tourism Industry Council; and Wayne Parkes, owner, Clydesdale Manor Boutique Hotel, Sandy Bay, Tasmania.
