Refurbishment

The Best Western Gregory Terrace

Eco-friendly, affordable, rated 3½ stars and located in central Brisbane; The Best Western Gregory Terrace is a terrific motel in its own right but thanks to a recent refurbishment of both the interior and exterior, it just got even better!

In attempts to revamp the dated look of the property, suppliers were brought in to modernise and update. Not only were the attempts successful but its fresh new look has lead Best Western Gregory Terrace to a newfound popularity amongst travellers.

Superior and deluxe rooms throughout the motel underwent total refurbishment. Now sporting either 32 inch or 42 inch LCD LED televisions, chaise lounges, robes and slippers, queen and king pillow topped beds, luxury bedding, bathrobes, extensively stocked mini-bars, ergonomic work desks; the rooms already boast stunning city views, reverse cycle air con, balconies and spacious living areas.

Mark’s In Your Bath. Bathroom Resurfacing P/L came to the aid of Best Western Gregory Terrace in the form of Mark Savill, who oversaw refurbishment of all the bathrooms in the property. According to Mark, “the bathrooms were looking tired and dated, the floor was cream and the walls were mustard. To rejuvenate them, the walls were white glossed and the floors were resurfaced so that they now have stunning speckled grey shine to them”.

A newly refurbished bathroom, one that has been completely ripped out and redone could cost accommodation providers between $15,000 and $20,000 if they are not careful and neglect researching their options. Mark’s In Your Bath. Bathroom Resurfacing was able to upgrade and modernise Best Western Gregory Terrace’s bathrooms for approximately $3500 a piece. “I was able to save the motel money and time in the long run”, Mark explains, because he was able to complete five consecutive bathrooms in just one week and then provide a three to five year guarantee that ensured functionality as well as aesthetic. In the experience of Best Western Gregory Terrace, Mark’s in Your Bath was able to offer the highest quality hotel bathroom refurbishment available at the most affordable price.

AN44-1-BW-Gregory-Terrace-2Luxurious new curtains were supplied by John Burleigh, of Burleigh Texiles Ltd, who asserted that “it was a pleasure to do the work in this hotel, the owners were very happy with the result, particularly as they were able to choose the colours and patterns”. John provided and installed the tracks, runners and curtains; both main curtains and the sheer ones, as well as the runners at the end of the beds.

Similarly, Randolph Pereira, of Guest Commercial Ltd provided brand new, modern furniture packages for the newly refurbished rooms, making the whole project convenient and effective for the motel owners and ultimately guests. Randolph commented “we provided all the loose furniture for the rooms; sofa beds, artwork, throws, etc and the client has been really happy with the look, feel and comfort levels of the products we were able to provide”.

Along with all the fully refurbished rooms, the restaurant, bar, kitchen and pool area were also completely modernised in the last year; part of the outdoor courtyard was even revamped to enable alfresco dining. The project was launched, according to manager Alice Hampton, “to freshen up the property’s ambience” and, in her view, as well as the apparent view of her various suppliers, this goal was achieved.

Perhaps most telling of all, are the recent reviews guests have posted on TripAdvisor. With an overall “very good” traveler rating, the motel has become increasingly popular in the last year. One review posted August 2012 noted that Best Western Gregory Terrace was “excellent value for modern, clean accommodation… with new furniture and individual artwork”. The now newly refurbished facilities are also a big draw for guests, these include a popular on-site restaurant which features a seasonal menu and fresh produce, an outdoor swimming pool, a beautiful courtyard, and the motel also offers complimentary undercover secure parking for its guests and visitors. Each of these positive features are discussed in the various online reviews; where tourists looking for good places to stay in Brisbane, for instance, will undoubtedly be swayed. This kind of peer-to-peer advertising is a direct consequence of the recent refurbishment, and this is something hotels or resorts contemplating refurbishment should factor into consideration.

“Spacious, light, airy and clean rooms are what we offer guests at Best Western Gregory Terrace, Brisbane.” This is the promise made by the motel itself, and thanks to the quality, practical refurbishment that successfully took place here in the last year, this is a promise well kept!
