Changes at Rendezvous

Rendezvous Hospitality Group has announced several management changes to strengthen the Australian management team.

Senior vice-president of hotel operations Geoffrey Johnstone has announced his retirement after five years with the company. Geoffrey joined RHG in 2007 as general manager, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne and was promoted to regional vice-president operations Australia/New Zealand in 2009, a role that he held until his promotion to his current role.

General manager at Rendezvous Grand Hotel Adelaide, Emilio Fortini will assume Geoffrey’s role as of 1 January. Emilio joined RHG in July 2007 and has since served the organisation well in his role as general manager at the former Marque Hotel Canberra, former Rendezvous Sanctuary Resort Broome, Rendezvous Grand Hotel Auckland as well as in his current role at Rendezvous Grand Hotel Adelaide.

Reporting to Emilio, area general manager in Brisbane Justin Philip, will now take on the role of area general manager, Western Australia. Following three years of dedicated service to RHG in his role as general manager at Rendezvous Reef Resort Port Douglas, Scott Wilkinson has been appointed general manager of Rendezvous Grand Hotel Adelaide. Luke Macdonald will take over from Scott as general manager of Rendezvous Reef Resort Port Douglas. The new area general manager of Queensland is Matthew Horvat.

Matthew joined RHG as part of the management team of the former Duxton Hotel Melbourne (now Rendezvous Grand Hotel Melbourne) and his most recent role was as area general manager, WA.
