Haus Studio apartments open in Hahndorf
The Haus Studio Apartments have been officially opened, marking the completion of a three stage accommodation and restaurant development.
The 14 luxurious self-contained apartments complete the Haus development which includes the much-loved Haus Café+Bar+Kitchen that opened in late 2010.
The South Australian Tourism Commission provided $200,000 funding for the three year project, through its Tourism Development Fund, to assist with the development of the eatery and new apartments.
Minister for tourism Gail Gago said the development of the four-star apartments was important in attracting high yield experience seekers to the Adelaide Hills. “Accommodation of this high quality will encourage people to stay longer in the region and base themselves in the Adelaide Hills, while also enjoying nearby towns,” Ms Gago said.
She said the completion of the apartments fulfilled 20% of the South Australian Tourism Commission’ s goal of 70 new four-star+ rooms by 2020, as part of the Adelaide Hills Destination Plan.
Helen Edwards said the Haus Studio Apartments, in the heart of Hahndorf, would be a popular addition to the accommodation options in the Adelaide Hills. “As people discover what a treasure trove the Adelaide Hills is they want places to stay so they can explore our towns and villages, nature and landscape, food and wine and wonderful culture,” Ms Edwards said.
General manager Jason Duffield said the new apartments were a much-needed boost for accommodation in the Adelaide Hills region. “Many of the other Hahndorf motels are consistently booked out, so our new studio apartments will offer a new option for families, couples and business travellers.”
