New president elected for SCA

Simon Barnard, principal of one of Queensland’s leading body corporate management firms, has been announced as the new president of Strata Community Australia (Qld), the peak body for the strata title and body corporate sector in Queensland.

Mr Barnard who previously served as vice-president was elected into the position after the former president, James Freestun, decided to step down after 18 months.

During his presidency, Mr Freestun was a driving force behind the SCA’s member engagement campaign, which saw a significant increase in membership numbers for SCA (Qld). Mr Barnard said he plans to carry on the SCA’s direction in delivering what members want through professional standards, member services and advocacy for the industry.
