Delay to re-opening Bendigo hotel
Bendigo’s Hopetoun Hotel has had its reopening delayed over a verandah dispute.
The Guida family, owners of the hotel which has been closed for four years, want to re-open this month it as a Lazy Moe family restaurant complex with four one-bedroom apartments above.
But the City of Greater Bendigo want the Guida family to consider reinstating the hotel’s original verandah and VicRoads had denied permission for this.
Lazy Moe’s marketing communications manager Grazia Guida said the opening had been pushed back until sometime around August.
