Philips Hospitality not affected by Funai move

The Philips Hospitality TV business is not affected by the recent announcement that Philips published regarding the transfer of its lifestyle entertainment business to Funai.

Eva Heller of TP Vision, a dedicated television player in the world of visual digital entertainment, concentrates on developing, manufacturing and marketing Philips branded TV sets to markets in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina and selected countries in Asia-Pacific.

“In the professional market, we do this by combining our long experience in market leading innovation as Philips Hospitality TV with the operational excellence, flexibility and speed of TPV technology. We believe in creating products that offer superior value and the latest technology for both hospitality providers and their guests,” said Ms Heller. “With Philips TVs, TP Vision is a global leader in the hospitality market catering for the specific needs of hoteliers and proudly serve more than 80% of the international hotel chains amongst others Hilton worldwide, Accor, Kempinski and Marriott hotels.

“In Australia and New Zealand, TP Vision is fully dedicated to marketing and selling Philips branded TVs for the hospitality market. To best serve our customers we moved to a distributor model in 2012 and work closely with our local partner Avico Electronics. Being a locally based organisation the Avico team knows the Australian and New Zealand market best and helps us to provide the right solutions for our local hospitality customers. Over the past year this approach has proven very successful and we have managed together with Avico to continuously grow the business and maintain our position as one of the leading players in the hospitality TV market in these countries,” said Ms Heller.

“It is a key priority for us to work via Avico closely with local content providers and system integrators. For example in the area of video on demand systems (VOD) we are now working closer than ever with companies such as Movielink in order to provide sustainable added value to our customers that is relevant to the local markets.

“Currently, TP Vision is working on a new range of dedicated Philips Hospitality TVs for the Australia and New Zealand market. This new, innovative and comprehensive line-up is expected to hit the market starting from the second quarter of 2013,” said Ms Heller.
Based in Amsterdam, TP Vision is the exclusive brand licensee of Philips TV for the above listed countries. The TV company is 70% owned by TPV and 30% by Royal Philips Electronics, headquartered in the Netherlands.
