Timeshare call centre jobs go to Asia

RCI Pacific is to move its Gold Coast call-centre functions to the company’s Singapore office (RCI Singapore) with around 60 jobs disappearing.

The US-based president of RCI, Gordon Gurnick, told staff their jobs would go as part of a global restructuring of RCI.

“We have been performing well and have a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand but, as a global company, we have looked at where we can combine offices and functions.”

RCI Pacific managing director Charisse Cox said the 60 employees were mainly back office and member service staff and would be offered help to find new employment. She said the Bundall office would retain about 10 staff to service key clients.

RCI Pacific is a part of the global Wyndham Worldwide Group and offers timeshare holiday exchange accommodation at more than 4000 resorts in 100 countries.
