Victoria’s planning minister Matthew Guy has approved Australia 108 – the largest apartment tower in the southern hemisphere.
Mr Guy called Australia 108, designed by architects Fender Katsalidis, a “signature development for Melbourne”.
The $600 million Australia 108 will tower 388m over Melbourne with 108 floors housing 664 apartments and a six-star luxury hotel with 288 rooms. It will be 91m higher than Melbourne’s Eureka Tower and the Gold Coast’s Q1.
The $600 million project is backed by private investors Nonda Katsalidis, Benni Aroni, Adrian Valmorbida, Ian Fayman, Gary Caulfield and Mark Hopkinson.
