SA property thwarts resort plan
Hayes family’s 1855 Lindsay Park racing and breeding property in the Barossa Valley has been sold to a Hong Kong buyer Henry Tang Ying-yen.
The sale has thwarted Barossa Valley winemaker Dave Powell’s plans to turn the 640 ha property into a six-star resort to accommodate up to 30 people. Mr Powell, the owner of Torbreck Wines at Marananga, said he was informed by David Hayes that his $13 million was refused.
It is believed that Mr Tang’s intention is to establish a breeding business.
