Townsville resort in further upgrade
A refurbishment of Townsville’s Aquarius on the Beach will cost $300,000 and include a facelift of the pool and public areas.
General manager Tony Dolan said it opens up the option of adding new apartments in the old fine-dining restaurant on the 14th floor.
Mr Dolan said work would be completed in time for the Townsville 400. Hywel Jones Landscape Architects project manager Sean Fitzpatrick said work on the redevelopment would begin this week and be completed in eight weeks.
Owners have spent $3 million over the past six years refurbishing their units, while the body corporate has also forked out nearly $2 million towards a number of internal upgrades.
