Mackay’s Clarion expected to fetch $20m
The 4½-star Clarion Hotel at Mackay Marina is up for sale and is expected to fetch more than $20 million.
Malcolm Hall-Brown’s Port Binnli Group is selling the seven-year old 79-room hotel that sits on a large site with waterfrontage to Mackay Harbour and scope for further expansion. Binnli has secured development approval to build a further 120 rooms.
It also has a conference room and restaurant that recently has undergone a $1m expansion to match demand from larger groups.
Resort Brokers is handling the sale.
The hotel is part of a wider $150m Mackay Marina Village development by Port Binnli Group that includes a 479-berth marina, a shipbuilding yard and a residential component.
