Rydges expands snowy mountains footprint

The management rights of the four star Horizons Resort ski property overlooking Lake Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains has been bought by Amalgamated Holdings Ltd’s Rydges Hotels and Resorts for $1.8 million.
The sale was handled by Ian Dore for Resort Brokers Australia following a national marketing campaign.

Rydges already has a strong presence in the Snowy Mountains, owning and operating a ski resort adjacent to the Horizons Resort.

Horizons Resort is comprised of 120 self-contained studio and one bedroom spa apartments and a separate, three bedroom manager’s residence, all with views across the lake.

It is also a popular summer venue for weddings, conferences and events due to its 250 person conference facilities.

Features include an a la carte licensed restaurant, family bistro, bar and piano lounge, indoor heated pool, outdoor tennis court and gym.

The resort will be re-branded as Rydges Horizons Snowy Mountains and operated under AHL’s renowned Rydges Hotels brand to complement AHL’s ski resort operation in Thredbo.
