Melbourne backpackers sold
Melbourne backpacker hostel, The Elephant on Flinders Street, has just been purchased by Gordan Marolt’s Australian Budget Accommodation Group.
General manager Anna Heaton says, “This property needs a lot of love and investment and that’s exactly what it’s going to get! Full scale renovations are set to begin in the coming weeks and the old Elephant will be transformed into an uber cool, 300 bed hostel with basement bar and other great facilities.”
The property will continue to operate at reduced capacity until the renovations are complete and the new brand launched before summer.
