Yass Valley renews its focus on attracting the tourist dollar

Yass Valley, in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, is embarking on a renewed push to attract the tourist dollar to the region with the launch of a new Visit Yass Valley tourism marketing campaign.

“We’d like to encourage visitors travelling between Sydney and Melbourne to stop off and explore inland NSW and the depth of what we have to offer here, the new campaign is also a great opportunity to lure more Canberrans over the border to discover what’s on offer on their own doorstep,” said the mayor of Yass Valley, Rowena Abbey. The tourism experiences on offer in Yass Valley include gourmet food producers, world-class wineries, artisans and makers with products such as The Poachers Way and Southern Harvest. There’s also nature-based activities, heritage with the gold trails, festivals and events, tours and trails – all within the quaint towns and villages of Yass Valley. These will all be highlighted and promoted as part of the new tourism marketing campaign, according to Yass Valley Council’s tourism manager, Sean Haylan.

“The campaign will include a newly branded website, new visitor’s guide and new digital marketing activities that will inspire, motivate and convert lookers into bookers, this is more than just a makeover for our tourism marketing, it’s introducing a whole new point of view from which to tell our story,” he said. “The modern traveller is smart, digitally connected and willing to share their ideas and opinions openly. We want a positive experience in Yass Valley to be the next thing on their list to share, talk about and enjoy,” Sean concluded.
