BW Continues Rapid Expansion in Tasmania

Best Western Australasia has continued its rapid expansion in Tasmania, opening its eighth hotel, the Best Western Foreshore Motel on the foreshore of Lauderdale’s Ralph’s Bay.

Colin McGillivray, Best Western Foreshore Motel operations manager said he was impressed by the high quality and standards of Best Western, making his decision to partner with the World’s Biggest Hotel Family easy.

Mr McGillivray believes Tasmania is becoming increasingly popular as a holiday destination for local Australian and overseas New Zealand families and has also seen international tourists from China make more trips to Lauderdale to discover Tasmania’s surrounding regions. “Visitors to Tasmania really do get wonderful value for money and the attractions are too numerous to list. I know the Museum of Old and New Art continues to be among the most popular tourist attractions in Australia, with the Salamanca markets close behind,” he said. “For anyone visiting Hobart for work or play, there are a number of must-see places, such as the area surrounding St Helens and the Bay of Fires; the Launceston and the Tamar Valley wine route; and the beautiful Heritage Highway. These few attractions only scratch the surface, as Tasmania offers so many wonderful tourist experiences for Australian and international travellers.”

Rob Anderson, Best Western Australasia chief executive said, “Best Western is undertaking an unprecedented period of expansion in Tasmania, already signing the Best Western Plus Launceston and Best Western Hobart earlier this month,” Mr Anderson said.

Best Western Foreshore Motel is a 15 minute drive from the Hobart CBD and 10 minutes from the Hobart Airport. Recently revamped in 2012, it offers 16 elegantly appointed modern guest rooms with a range of amenities and services including queen size beds, ensuites, air conditioning/heating, tea/coffee making facilities, LCD TVs, a private patio, free parking and in-room wi-fi.

An extension of the popular Foreshore Tavern, guests can enjoy dining in the relaxed atmosphere of the Foreshore Bistro or sip on a drink with stunning views from the onsite sports bar or casual lounge. There is an extensive bistro and bar menu, selected by the Foreshore Tavern’s highly trained chefs; plus a robust range of conferencing and events packages.
