Oaks Sets Wifi Pricing
Oaks Hotels & Resorts, a division of Minor International PCL and one of Australia’s largest apartment accommodation providers, has announced it will implement a new Internet pricing scheme across the entire Australian and New Zealand property portfolio, set to significantly broaden its appeal to both business and leisure travellers.
Coming into effect from 1 September, Oaks Hotels & Resorts will offer guests 30 minutes of free Internet access per room per day, while new, competitive rates will supersede existing fees thereafter at every Australian hotel and resort. Oaks new pricing offer starts from $5 for an additional 30 minutes; $10 for two hours; $18 for 24 hours; $85 for seven days; and $270 for 30 days – ensuring long-term guests are catered for, too.
General manager of sales for Oaks Daniel Csortan said the decision to update the company’s Internet pricing was a progressive evolution in order to remain a front-runner in an increasingly competitive industry.
“We understand the need for Internet has become a necessity ingrained in our society. And through trialing new Internet plans over the past couple of months, we deemed it essential to roll out both a complimentary daily access period and reduced tiered rates that will be both easily understood and widely accepted by our guests. This pricing will be applicable to both hard-wired Internet and wifi – and for those properties that are yet to offer wifi facilities, we are steadily upgrading to ensure this service is standard across all properties.
“We are confident this new scheme will give travellers even more reason to choose Oaks Hotels & Resorts for business and leisure as it meets the growing demand for competitively priced onsite Internet; an addition that will bolster our already affordable accommodation rates,” he said.
