Adventure for the whole family at Vivonne Bay Lodge
Kangaroo Island’s Vivonne Bay Lodge is opening its doors to families and adventurers with modern accommodation and action-packed activities to get the adrenalin pumping.
The property – on 206ha of pristine bush land, with one kilometre of beach frontage offers kayaking on nearby Harriet River, biking, self-guided walking trails, and sand boarding at the nearby Little Sahara sand dunes.
There’s even a path weaving through bushland to stunning Vivonne Bay, declared Australia’s best beach in a study by Sydney University.
“There is no other property like this on Kangaroo Island and whilst it has been a popular inclusion with backpackers on adventure tours for some time, families travelling independently and groups of friends are starting to discover this amazing property,” SeaLink’s marketing manager Julie-Anne Briscoe says.
“As well as an incredible array of things to do, the Lodge offers private rooms designed for families, couples and singles, eight-bed dormitories, a well-equipped shared kitchen/dining area and a comfortable lounge warmed by an open fire in winter.

Other facilities include a barbecue area with barbecue meat and salad packs available, bar facilities, free tea and coffee, a pool table and table tennis.
Continental breakfast is included in the room rate and the Lodge is just a short drive from Kangaroo Island’s most famous attractions such as Seal Bay, Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks.
A range of self-drive packages are available including SeaLink ferry and accommodation with kayaks, bikes and other adventure equipment available for free for anyone staying at Vivonne Bay Lodge for two nights or more.
The Lodge has been owned by SeaLink for around eight years now and has developed it into a comfortable lodge that provides accommodation for both FIT and Kangaroo Island Adventure Tour clients.
