Public/Private Partnership Delivers

A new accommodation complex in Canberra has been built as part of a national public private partnership.

The $28 million apartment complexes have been built by Plenary Group and the Australian Department of Defence. A total of 113 single-living residential units have been built at the Australian Defence Force Academy and the Royal Military College Duntroon. Plenary Group, through facilities manager Compass Group, will be responsible for the management of the sites.

The accommodation blocks are the penultimate stages of the Single Living Environment and Accommodation Precinct 2 partnership that involved the $900 million construction of more than 3000 residential units at 17 sites around Australia.

The final one will be finished in Darwin next month.

Plenary Group director Ray Wilson said it was a 30-year partnership to deliver the improved residences around the country.
