Kirra Beach plans revised

Ridge Properties P/L have bowed to public opinion and submitted revised plans for the redevelopment of the Kirra Beach Hotel on the Gold Coast.

The new proposal would see the number of apartments reduced from 249 to 147 and the height of the towers lowered from 25 storeys to 14, and 15 storeys to 10.

Ridge Properties executive manager Drew Steptoe said, “We have revised our original plans after discussions with council officers and also communication with a relatively small number of nearby residents, who had concerns and we believe the new design will get support. The Kirra Hotel is the largest remaining site and it occupies such a prominent position. We want to do the site and the southern Gold Coast justice by providing a quality outcome.”
