Renovating Paradise
Port Douglas is a picturesque seaside village located just 70km north of Cairns International Airport along a spectacular scenic coastal drive. The relaxed seaside village is set alongside the spectacular Four Mile Beach and holidaymakers relish the natural beauty and warm, balmy climate that attracts visitors at any time of the year.
It is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage listed jewels exist; the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Freestyle Resort Apartments in Port Douglas is a classic North Queenslander with cedar timber shutters, verandahs, overhanging roofs and all this surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Apartments overlook a tropical reserve on one side and the lush gardens with a saltwater pool – renovated in 2010 and awarded SPASA’s best commercial pool renovation under $250,000 for the builder, Dean Thomas Pools of Cairns – and spa on the other side.
But, like most accommodation complexes, was in need of a makeover.
Builders and owners since 2000, Jason and Anne Moore sought the help of Noble House Design to reinvigorate 29 of the 31 apartments that make up the three-storey walk-up complex. These are fully furnished with an elegant tropical flavour, have a fully equipped kitchen, with microwave and hotplates, queen sized beds in main bedrooms, individual, full air conditioning and ceiling fans, a private shaded balcony or patio, flat screen HD TV, DVD player, free Foxtel cable TV and free wi-fi broadband Internet.

“The refurbishment by Noble House involved replacing all furniture with new, replacing all tapware and bathroom accessories with new and replacing all down lights and fans with new,” Rachel Micjan, interior designer and commercial sales manager of Noble House Design outlines.
“Noble House Design completed the project in two stages, 15 units in the first stage and 14 apartments in the second stage. Each stage was completed within two weeks including the removal of existing furniture.

“With regards to the overall design idea, it was important to listen to my clients brief and give them a fresh colour scheme to compliment their tropical surrounds and provide furniture to suit the tropics humidity,” says Ms Micjan.
Freestyle Resort Apartments boasts a fantastic pool and spa with BBQ, entertainment gazebo as well as a comprehensive tour desk and reception lounge. And all of this located at the northern end of the fabulous Four Mile Beach – a three minute walk away. Port Douglas village with its stylish eating establishments and boutique shops is a four minute stroll.
