Manager for Sunshine Coast Destination
Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd has appointed a new tourism development manager, Susan Maynard.
Susan was channel manager of the hospitality chain, Oaks Hotels and Resorts and was responsible for ensuring the group’s online presence translated into sales. Following this success, Susan moved into the position of sales and marketing manager liaising with all state sales and marketing staff, contracting with industry bodies, suppliers, corporate and other guests, as well as conducting market research.
Most recently, Susan was an integral part of the very successful Digital Ready Program for Tourism and Events Queensland as a digital coach. Over the life of the program she travelled around the state developing and improving the digital knowledge within the tourism industry to strengthen digital consumer communication and digital marketing performance.
CEO of SCDL, Simon Ambrose, welcomed Susan’s appointment, “Susan will work in collaboration with industry and members in the Southern (Kawana to Caloundra), Hinterland and Gympie to Cooloola regions. She will also be responsible for the implementation and management of regional SCDL programs to grow tourism (in particular the niche of Golf and the 2018 Commonwealth Games). She is the direct link with Destination Advisory Panels and other stakeholder groups within these areas of the Sunshine Coast.”
