Resort for Sandstone Point
Construction of a $50 million development at Sandstone Point has begun with stage one of the project, The Sandstone Point Hotel, set to open mid-2015.
The 35ha waterfront site on Bribie Island Rd was bought by the Comiskey group in 2011 and will ¬include a hotel, child care centre, Big 4 caravan park, 4½ -star motel and large outdoor entertainment venue.
Director Rob Comiskey said, “This location right on the Pumicestone Passage is very special and we wanted to do something that hadn’t been done before.”
Mr Comiskey said the -entertainment venue would have a capacity of more than 10,000 people.
Construction of the Big 4 caravan park is set to commence within 18 months.
