Post Call Centre to be 500-unit Complex
Australia Post has lodged plans for a village-style development with 501 apartments to replace its three-storey Rosslyn St call centre in West Melbourne.
The proposal includes five apartment towers between six and 19 storeys tall with 11 retail spaces and 396 car spaces on the 9200m² site.
Rothelowman architect’s Belinda Nincevic said the design which includes a piazza were “designed to open up a previously closed-off inner-urban block, and provide a variety of public spaces in addition to retail and commercial tenancies.”
Australia Post has confirmed the site would be sold and is looking to maximise the value of the site by securing development approval. If approved, it will be one of the largest projects in the northern part of the city.
