Sunshine Coast caravan park for upgrade

Queensland’s Woombye Gardens Caravan Park will be upgraded as a result of a new ownership deal between the Queensland government and Sundale Ltd.

In 2012, the government announced Woombye Gardens Caravan Park on Nambour Connection Rd, Lazy Acres Caravan Park at Torquay and Monte Carlo Caravan Park at Cannon Hill would be sold to finance the construction of new public and community housing. But Sundale will continue to operate Woombye Gardens as a caravan/mobile home park indefinitely.

Sundale Ltd CEO Glenn Bunney said, “We have also entered into an agreement with the current managers of the park, Australian Tourist Park Management, to continue managing Woombye Gardens, so residents and visitors will see no difference in the park’s operation.”

Sundale planned to make improvements. “There’s a good opportunity at Woombye to expand the number of units available,” Mr Bunney said. “There are 44 permanent sites (36 cabins and eight caravan sites). We think there’s a real opportunity to expand that fairly quickly. We’d like to see improved amenities in the caravan park.”
