Third Time Lucky for W Hotel?
Jinshan Investments, the developer of Melbourne’s Palace Theatre site, last week submitted a revised proposal for Melbourne’s first W Hotel after a series of knockbacks from Victoria’s planning minister Matthew Guy. The new proposal is less than a quarter of the height of the original plan of 100 metres.
Project managers for Jinshan Investments Sinclair Brook’s development manager Tim Price said, “This third alteration of the proposal shows a strong belief and willingness to work with the planning authorities to deliver a positive result for this landmark site.”
However The National Trust’s Paul Roser said if the five-star W Hotel was approved by Mr Guy and the council, the decision could be challenged at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
